Case Study:
Color & Comfort
Project Overview
As a psychology graduate who is deeply passionate about mental health, and someone who has personally used art as a creative outlet, I wanted to explore how graphic design could help address the emotional struggles many college students face. Over the last two years, I developed a growing interest in art therapy and its ability to support mental well-being. Through this project, I aimed to create an accessible, engaging, and thoughtful way for students to reconnect with creativity as a form of emotional expression and healing.
The Problem
College students often experience a decline in both creativity and mental health as academic pressure and the expectations of adulthood increase. Research has shown that creativity tends to drop as students spend more time in university. At the same time, mental health statistics reveal rising rates of depression, anxiety, and stress among college populations.
The Solution
To respond to this issue, I created Color & Comfort, a conceptual brand that promotes the use of art as a tool for mental wellness. The brand encourages students to reconnect with their creativity in order to process emotions, manage stress, and care for their mental health in a healthy and expressive way.
